Already Blessed!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ”
(Ephesians 1:3, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD

God has blessed you! Past tense — He’s already done it! Now, you may not feel blessed, you may not look blessed; in fact, all the circumstances may tell you that you’re not blessed. But you’ve got to be bold enough to say, “No, I see it right here in God’s Word — I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ!”
What does it mean to be blessed? It means that you are supernaturally empowered to do whatever God has called you to do; to be whoever God has called you to be; and to have whatever God has called you to have. God’s blessing is His empowerment! The key is this: you have to believe it in order to receive it. You can’t walk around in guilt and condemnation from the past thinking you can’t do anything right and expect to keep moving forward. You have to shake off those old mindsets by declaring God’s truth over your life. Truth sets you free. When you speak God’s truth that you are blessed, you will be free to believe it and free to receive it! Today, take hold of what belongs to you. Approach the day with an attitude of faith and victory knowing that you are already blessed!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for blessing me with everything I need to be successful in this life. I receive Your Word today which is truth and life to my soul. Help me keep my mind stayed on You as I meditate on Your goodness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seeing Potential in Others

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“...Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out”
(Ephesians 6:18, The Message)

TODAY’S WORD

It’s easy to be someone’s friend when they’ve got it all together, when they’re walking in blessing and prosperity. Anybody can believe in people after they’re successful, after they graduate, after they’re promoted, after they get their big break. But, people need our support the most before they get their breakthrough. They need us to look past their faults and failures and see their potential.
Most times, people just need a little “push” of encouragement to keep them moving forward. We should always put ourselves in the other person’s shoes and see things from their perspective. You may have some good advice that could save them a lot of heartache and pain. Don’t keep it to yourself. Pick up the phone. Help them win. Maybe you excelled in a college course that they’re struggling in. Don’t sit back and think, “Too bad. They’ve got to learn it the hard way.” No, you are the hands and feet of Jesus. When you help others rise higher, you are fulfilling His mission. Today, share your love, support and encouragement. Invest life in others, see their potential, and together, you’ll rise higher into the blessing God has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for giving me influence with the people in my life. Thank You for equipping me to help others rise higher. Reveal to me the potential You have deposited in the people around me and show me ways to help them so we can win at life together. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He is Risen!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"…He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen…"
(Matthew 28:6, NLT

TODAY’S WORD

We have a reason to celebrate today because we serve a God who is alive and filled with resurrection power! Not only did He resurrect Jesus from the dead, but He wants to extend His resurrection power into every single area of your life, today!
Maybe you have a dream to get out of debt, pay off your house or be free from that burden of lack; but it looks like it's impossible. Business is slow. The economy is down. You've gone as far as your education allows. But God is saying, "I'm not limited by those things. I've got resurrection power. I can give you one break that will thrust you to a new level. I can open up doors that no man can shut. I can bring talent out of you that you didn't know you had. I can cause people, for no reason, to go out of their way to want to be good to you."
Your part is to keep believing today knowing that He wants to bring you into supernatural increase. Remember, He is risen, He is alive, and He is faithful to His Word. Trust Him today and let His resurrection power work in your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your resurrection power at work in my life. Today, I give You my broken dreams, disappointments, failures and setbacks and trust that You will breathe Your life into me. I trust that You have a good plan for my future and are leading me into total victory! In Jesus' Name.Amen.

Victory over Sin and Death

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ"
(1 Corinthians 15:57, NLT

TODAY’S WORD

This weekend, we will be celebrating Easter, the resurrection of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So much happened at Calvary's cross over two thousand years ago; but ultimately, Jesus overcame sin and death so that we could have abundant life! Because of Jesus, we have victory over anything that would try to hold us back!
No matter what bondage, stronghold, sin or addiction has held you captive in the past, when you receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you receive His power—His burden-moving, yoke-destroying anointing. Sin can't hold you back any longer because whom the Son sets free is free indeed! (See John 8:36) It all starts by believing and receiving this promise. The more you meditate on His Word, the more of His power becomes activated in you. Today, know that you are free and you have victory! Receive this truth and let it lead you to transform your being from the inside out!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me victory! Thank You for Your Word which is life and healing water to my soul. I choose to set my heart and thoughts on You knowing that You are empowering me to overcome in every area of my life! In Jesus' Name.Amen.

Sunday is Coming

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures"
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4, NIV

TODAY’S WORD

As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I think about when they crucified Jesus. On that Friday, it was the darkest, most painful, discouraging day of His life. In fact, it was so bad that He sweat drops of blood earlier. It looked as if His enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. They put Him in the grave on Friday, celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning was a different story. The grave could not hold Him! Death couldn't contain Him! The forces of darkness couldn't stop Him! On the third day, He came out of the grave, and He said, "I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore!"
One principle that the resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish what He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it's been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday. He will always complete what He started in you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for completing what You started in my life. I trust that no matter how dark things may seem, You are my shining light of hope. I thank You for working behind the scenes to carry me through to the place of victory in every area of my life! In Jesus' Name.Amen.

The Same Spirit

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you"
(Romans 8:11, AMP

TODAY’S WORD

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit of God makes His home inside of you. That's the same Spirit, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. That resurrection power can bring back health, strength and life to your physical body, and it can bring back life to your hopes and dreams. In fact, it can bring life to any area that may seem dormant on the inside of you.
The next time you feel overwhelmed by sickness, challenges or despair, remember, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. You may have been burdened by an addiction, fear or worry, but there's nothing that can stand against the power of God. Rise up and declare by faith, "He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I am restored and healed in the name of Jesus! No weapon formed against me can prosper!" As you rise up in faith and declare the Word of God, you are activating His power within you, and you are moving forward in the victory He has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for filling me with Your power by the Holy Spirit. I choose to feed my faith by declaring Your Word over my life so that I can tap in to every blessing You have for me. In Jesus' Name.Amen.

When Life Gives You a “Jolt”

I have a good friend, Phil Cooke, who is a talented movie and television producer. He's helped us a lot here at the ministry. Not only has he worked with us, but he has actually produced media programming in more than 40 countries around the world. Phil always has such a positive personality. He's always so full of vision, so creative. You'd think he's been on top of the world since the day he was born. But in his new book,
Jolt: Get a Jump on a World That's Constantly Changing, Phil tells about how life gave him an unexpected jolt that launched him into his divine destiny. He writes:

I had been working for a number of years at a media organization in the Midwest, when the man in charge decided it was time for me to move on. He had even pre-written my "resignation" letter. It wasn't because of the quality of my work or the results of my projects, but somehow he decided I just wasn't loyal enough, and had given me four hours to vacate the building.

I had been thinking about leaving for some time, and had even booked a ticket to Los Angeles to see about the possibilities on the West Coast, but being fired always takes you by surprise. It was quick, clean, and efficient. "You're fired. I'd like you out today, and if you want any severance pay, you have to sign the resignation letter we've already written."

I'll never forget telling my wife Kathleen. We had been married about 12 years, and although we had always dreamed about moving to Los Angeles and working in the media and entertainment industries there, it's amazing how you buy a home, have a couple of kids, get locked into your friends, and before long the dream has been replaced by the reality of everyday living. The older you get, the harder change becomes. We kept putting the dream on the shelf, intoxicated by the drug of a regular paycheck, and a mortgage. But now, that life was over. And the slow, thoughtful transition to Los Angeles that I had always imagined was now replaced by a real jolt--the need to make a decision now.

Have you ever rationalized settling for second best? It's amazing how you can make it sound like it's the right thing to do, even when your innermost being is crying out for you to follow your heart and discover your real potential.

It's a good job…
We have good benefits…
The kids are in good schools…
The church is very supportive…
The company is really growing…
I can't take a risk with my family right now…
All our friends are here…
We're close to where our family lives…
People tell me I'd be foolish to pack up and move away now…
I have a lot invested in our retirement account…

There are a million reasons and ways to rationalize keeping your life exactly the same, and I knew them all. Over time, I had been slowly exchanging a dream for security, and giving away my future for what I had convinced myself was the "right" thing to do.

But fortunately, I had the benefit of a serious jolt—getting tossed out on the street. Looking back, it was the best thing that could have possibly happened to me…

Maybe you can relate to Phil's story. Maybe life has given you an unexpected jolt. Maybe a relationship suddenly ended, or you were told you weren't needed at your job anymore. Or, maybe like me when my father went to be with the Lord, you lost a loved one unexpectedly. These "jolts" of life are defining moments that can either hold us back or launch us forward into the divine destiny God has prepared. That's why James 1 tells us to "count it all joy" when we face trials because in those moments when we are jolted out of our comfort zones, we are really getting a supernatural head start down the road of greatness. With God on your side, what looks like a setback is really a set up for a comeback!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:2-4, NIV).

Press toward the Promise

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“...Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised”
(Hebrews 6:12, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD

Are you facing a challenge today that seems overwhelming? Through faith and patience, you will see God’s promises come to pass in your life.

Understand that the enemy always fights the hardest when he knows you are closest to your breakthrough. He’d leave you alone if he thought you were going to live in mediocrity. If you keep pressing on toward your promise, through faith and patience, you will get there. Don’t be like the Israelites in the Old Testament who were right next to their promised land when they talked themselves out of it! They said, “There are giants in the land. It’s too difficult.” No, today, don’t look at the obstacles in your life. Lift up your eyes because you serve a supernatural God! Follow the example of Abraham who believed God even when his circumstances looked impossible. Remember, God always rewards the people who seek after Him. Stand in faith and keep believing because God will take you places that you never dreamed. Keep pressing toward the promise so you can live in the supernatural victory He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I come to You today choosing to believe Your promises. Fill me with Your faith and patience to press through to victory. I give You all the glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

By His Divine Power

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence”
(2 Peter 1:3 NLT)

TODAY’S WORD

Whether you realize it or not, God has already given you everything you need to live the life He’s called you to. You don’t need to feel stressed out, worried or afraid. You don’t have to wonder if you’re “good enough” to receive from God because God’s blessing has nothing to do with your performance. He has already blessed you and given you everything you need by His divine power!

The world’s system tells us to strive, toil and scrape to get what we want. Our culture puts limits on people because of their natural abilities, resources, background or circumstances. But with God, there are no limits! By His divine power, you are equipped, well able and strong. You are covered by His grace and mercy, and you are empowered to do all He has called you to do!

The next time you start thinking “I can’t...” or “I don’t have what it takes...,” attack those negative thoughts with the truth by declaring, “I have what it takes; I am well able; and I am equipped by His divine power at work in me!”

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your power which is at work in me. Thank You for equipping me and calling me according to Your good purpose. Give me Your strength and peace today. I keep my mind stayed on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Nothing Wasted

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"After everyone was full, Jesus told His disciples, "Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted"
(John 6:12, NLT).

TODAY’S WORD

The Bible tells of a time when Jesus fed a crowd of five thousand with only five loaves and two fish. That day, everyone had more than enough to eat, and there were still twelve baskets full of bread and fish leftover—more than what they started with! We serve a God of abundance! I love that Jesus told the disciples to collect all the leftovers "so that nothing is wasted." With God, nothing is ever wasted. He'll never waste an experience, He'll never waste a hurt, He'll never waste a dream, He'll never waste even a single piece of bread.

If you've felt like you've wasted years of your life in the wrong job, hanging around the wrong people, doing the wrong things, God will gather those years and restore them back to you. He'll take those experiences that the enemy meant for your harm and turn them around for your good. He'll make you stronger, wiser and better off than you were before. He can launch you further into your destiny than before. Be encouraged today because with God all things are possible and nothing is ever wasted!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I give You every bit of my life, my past, my present and my future. Thank You for taking every experience in my life and turning it around for my good. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Avoid Stumbling

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"Great peace have they who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble"
(Psalm 119:165, NIV).

TODAY’S WORD

If you're outside walking and see something that could cause you to trip and fall, maybe a rock or a stick, you probably don't make a big deal about it and just go around it. However, if you are distracted, not looking where you're going, or if it's too dark to see, that same object can become a stumbling block.

Friend, in our spiritual journey, the enemy has strategically placed all kinds of stumbling blocks in our paths. When we make the Word of God our number one priority, it helps us to move forward with our eyes wide open. His Word lights our path and helps us see clearly where to step. When we love His Word, we keep our peace and avoid stumbling. Remember that the most important thing you can do is take time to read and meditate on His Word. His Word is life and strength to your body, and it will protect and direct your every step today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for Your Word which is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I choose to hold Your commands close to my heart knowing they will protect and guide me. I bless You and thank You for keeping me close to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Hold On to Your Peace

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you"
(Luke 6:28, NIV).

TODAY’S WORD

I've learned that some people are peace stealers. They feel like it's their calling in life to aggravate you, try to make you look bad, and tell you what you can't do. They'll try to bait you into an argument to get you upset, annoyed and frustrated. But don't take the bait! Nothing is worth losing your peace over. They may think they're getting the best of you, but in the end, God can use that to take you higher. When people come against you, choose to keep your peace. Choose to forgive. Pray for that person because that's how you disarm the enemy against you.

Scripture says your battle isn't against flesh and blood. In others words, that person isn't your enemy; the accuser—Satan—is your enemy. He's trying to bring division and get you upset. But when you choose to keep peace, when you keep walking in love and keep a smile on your face, you are overcoming his tactics. That's how you win. Today, choose peace, choose to walk in love, and choose the victory God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for giving me Your peace and strength today. I choose to hold my peace and bless those who come against me. I choose to walk in love and forgiveness so that I can honor You in all that I do. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
